Aiman — New Muslim Course

The short version of what you get, and what we ask in return.

What you get

Access to the Aiman — New Muslim Course: seven self-paced modules with the teaching sessions, the practice sessions, the quizzes and the Qur'an memorization track, in Arabic with transliteration and translation. You work through it on your own device, at your own pace, and your progress is saved as you go.

What we ask in return

That you treat the course as study material and take it seriously: each module ends with a quiz, and the course is built to be worked through slowly and revisited. Where scholars differ, the course says so and points you to your own teacher — always follow your teacher on such points.

Refunds and cancellations

Placeholder — the academy has not set a refund/cancellation policy yet. The owner must confirm the wording here (or remove this section) before this page is published. Until then, write to [email protected] and we will sort it out with you.

The material itself

The course text is Aiman Academy's own work. Everything else it is built from is quoted or recorded by someone else, and each one is credited in the section below.

Licences and attributions

The course text

The teaching sessions, the practice sessions, the quizzes, the memorization notes and the study advice are Aiman Academy's own work, published under CC BY 4.0 — aiman.academy — the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. You may copy, share and adapt it, including commercially, as long as you credit Aiman Academy and say whether you changed it.

The Qur'an text

Every verse is quoted exactly, with its surah and ayah reference. The Arabic text is the Uthmani text published by Tanzil and Quran.com. The Qur'an is the word of Allah; the transcription of it is the work of those publishers, and it is used here with the credit they ask for.

The English translation

The English wording printed beside each verse is the Saheeh International translation, credited here as that translation asks.

The hadith

Hadith is quoted only from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. Every quotation is recorded with the collection and the number it comes from — those references are held in the course's own source records, so any quotation can be looked up in the original. Nothing else is quoted as a formal citation. A small number of rulings are taught in the academy's own words from the other classical collections, and those references are recorded in the same source records.

The recitations

Every recording the course plays, and where it came from. The ten surahs are recited by Mahmud Khalil al-Husary in the slow teaching recitation, from everyayah.com. The tashahhud is recited by Hamad ad-Darihim, from the Fortress of the Muslim audio library (hisnmuslim.com). The shahadah practice recording is the recitation from the "How to Say the Shahada?" video on islamhouse.com. The call to prayer is "The Muslim Azan with English translation" from islamreligion.com. These recordings are cleared for dawah and education only. Any commercial use still has to be cleared again, or the recordings have to be replaced with ones the academy owns. That work is still open.

The videos

The wudu guide and the prayer guide are the Osoul Center's, taken from islamhouse.com and used with the academy's approval for dawah and education, on the same terms as the recordings above.

The course software

The course runs on open-source learning software. Its licence and its credit are on the usage policy.

Owner to complete

The owner should review this page, confirm the refund/cancellation wording, and add whatever else their jurisdiction requires (governing law, company details) before launch.
