How to use the course
The course is yours to work through at your own pace, on your own device. Sign in with the account Aiman Academy set up for you, and keep the password to yourself: do not share it, do not pass it on, and do not open an account in another learner's name. Each account records one learner's progress, so sharing or swapping accounts makes the record wrong for everyone.
Do not interfere with the sign-in and access controls, and do not use the course in a way that disrupts it for other learners — no automated access, no scraping of the material, and no attempts to reach another learner's account. If something is broken or you cannot get in, write to us and we will sort it out.
Your information
What the academy holds for you: the name and email address you gave us, the username we created for you in the course, which sessions and quizzes you have finished, and the payments recorded against your place.
Your record is visible to you and to the academy's staff. It is not visible to other learners: every page you see is built from the account you signed in with, and no learner page takes another learner's identity from the web address.
You can ask us to correct a detail on your account, or to delete the account and the progress recorded against it. Write to [email protected] and we will action it.
What the academy does with that information
We use it to run the course: to show you your own progress and what to do next, to issue your certificate when you finish, to answer your questions, and to keep your account working.
We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. The course carries no tracking scripts and no advertising, and the course app sends no statistics about your use to the software's authors — that reporting is switched off in the academy's deployment.
Your learning record — your account, your progress and your quiz results — stays on the academy's own servers. The course app has no route to the internet at all, so nothing about your learning is sent to a cloud service.
For parents, guardians and teachers
The academy administers the platform on its own server: the course, the accounts and the records are all kept there, and the course material is not open to the public — the lessons, quizzes, recordings and media are served only to a signed-in learner session.
Your learner's record is visible to the academy's staff, who use it to follow progress and to help; they do not pass it to anyone outside the academy. To follow a learner's progress, ask the academy — the staff view is the only place another person's record appears, and a learner account never shows one.
About the course software
The course runs on an open-source learning platform called Kolibri, built by Learning Equality and released under the MIT licence — the MIT licence text.
The course text — the lessons, the quizzes and the study notes — is Aiman Academy's own work, published under CC BY 4.0 — aiman.academy. The credits for the rest of the material the course is built from are in the licences and attributions section on the terms page.
Owner to complete
This page describes what the current system does. The owner should review it and add whatever their jurisdiction requires (the rules on acceptable use, the supervising authority, the age at which a learner may hold an account) before launch.
